How much is the admission to Smilestones?
Day tickets for adults cost CHF 22 per person and for children CHF 12.
Do I need to buy tickets online in advance?

No, tickets can also be purchased spontaneously on site. For groups of 20 or more people, we kindly ask for a pre-registration via our event form.

Can I also buy tickets spontaneously on site?

Yes, tickets can be purchased both at the ticket counter and online in the ticket shop.

Am I allowed to leave the exhibition and re-enter?

Yes, our tickets are valid for a whole day within our opening hours.

Is Smilestones also open on public holidays?

Yes. Smilestones is open on public holidays of the Canton of Schaffhausen, from 10 am to 5.30 pm. Smilestones is only closed on Christmas (24 & 25 December).

How to get here

Are there parking spaces directly at Smilestones?

Yes. Paid parking spaces, including wheelchair parking spaces and charging stations for electric vehicles, are available in the multi-storey car park of the Rhytech area, just a few metres from the entrance.

I am travelling by public transport. How do I get to Smilestones?

The nearest railway station is “Neuhausen, Bad. Bhf.” (approx. 5 minutes on foot to Smilestones).

From Schaffhausen, there is also the option to take the bus. Lines 1 and 7 run to the “Rhytech” stop. From there, it is approx. 3 minutes on foot.

Alternatively, arrival via the railway stations “Neuhausen” (approx. 20 minutes on foot) and “Neuhausen Rheinfall” (approx. 10 minutes on foot) is possible. We would like to point out that it is an uphill walk from these two stations.

Does Smilestones offer parking spaces for coaches?

Yes. Coach parking spaces are available on the Rhytech area. A reservation is mandatory.

Your Visit

How long does a visit to Smilestones take?

Most visitors spend about 1.5 hours in the miniature world. If you want to discover all the details or try out the interactive elements, you can also stay longer.

Is Smilestones also suitable for children?

Yes. There are special steps for children and they can discover numerous moving scenes, press buttons and, if they wish, go on a discovery tour for hidden details. However, very small children must be held in arms to be able to see everything. Children up to 12 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Is Smilestones wheelchair accessible?

Yes. The exhibition is wheelchair accessible. In addition, a wheelchair-accessible toilet and corresponding parking spaces are available nearby.

Am I allowed to take photos or film?

Yes. Taking photos and filming for private purposes are explicitly welcome.

Is there anything to eat and drink?

There are hot and cold drinks as well as small snacks, but no hot meals.

Are dogs or other pets allowed?

No. Dogs and other animals are not allowed in the exhibition.
Exceptions are marked guide dogs and other marked assistance dogs.

Is a visit worthwhile even in bad weather?

Yes. Smilestones is an all-weather destination and is ideal for rainy days or very hot summer days, as the exhibition is air-conditioned.

Does Smilestones offer lockers?

Yes. There are free lockers in the entrance area.

Does Smilestones offer guided tours and apéritifs?

Yes. Upon pre-registration, we offer guided tours (approx. 45 minutes), short introductions (approx. 20 minutes) and apéritifs.
